Our History

Senior Helpers of Durham Region, was the first office opened in 2016 as the very first Canadian location. It currently stands as one of the leading providers of in-home senior care in the area. Our mission is to ensure a high quality of life for our clients and their families by offering customized care services ranging from daily activity assistance to specialized support for conditions like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s. Our dedicated team, deeply rooted in the community we serve, delivers reliable care not only in homes but also in assisted and independent living facilities. Jennette DiCiantis brings over a decade of dedicated experience in senior care and social services to Senior Helpers. Specializing in individualized support and client-centered care, Jennette has a proven track record in enhancing the well-being of seniors. At Amica Senior Living Lifestyles, she excelled as Resident Service Coordinator, managing wellness operations and developing programs tailored to the needs of seniors in Assisted and Memory Care neighborhoods. Her work ensured compliance with legislative guidelines and fostered strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families. Jennette's expertise in crisis intervention, community outreach, and team leadership is complemented by her Social Service Worker Diploma and certifications in Crisis Prevention, CPR & First Aid, and Suicide Prevention. Her compassionate approach and commitment to professional growth make her an invaluable asset to our team, ensuring our seniors receive the highest quality of care.
